Evidence Tech - Christy Davidson Christy joined the Van Buren Police Department as the Evidence Tech in March 2009. Prior to this date, no official evidence position had been created, but Christy was hired after a restructuring and has been instrumental in maintaining an orderly and efficient evidence inventory since that time. Christy is certified through the International Association of Property & Evidence and was awarded Employee of the Year in 2014. Christy is a Van Buren native and graduated from VBHS in 1996. Christy achieved a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from Arkansas Tech University where she studied music. She still has a love for the arts and is a member of the Fort Smith Chorale and is the Music and Worship leader for her church. She loves gardening, designing and making elaborate cakes for special occasions. Christy lives with her two children, her husband and her five cats.
The Property and Evidence Room is where all of the evidence collected in any investigation, whether it's by patrol or by CID, is securely stored at the Van Buren Police Department. The Property and Evidence room also maintains property for safekeeping as well as found property. The room is video monitored and is only accessible by the Evidence Tech and the Service Captain. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm, closed for lunch and federal holidays. If you have property that you would like to claim or discuss, appointments are recommended.
